An outback billabong is a waterhole or pond that is typically found in the arid regions of Australia. These waterholes are often fed by seasonal rains and are an important source of water for both wildlife and people living in the remote areas of the outback.

Billabongs are usually surrounded by a diverse range of vegetation, including tall grasses, eucalyptus trees, and other native plants. They are home to a wide variety of aquatic plants and animals, including fish, turtles, frogs, and birds. The water in Billabongs is often clear and still, creating a tranquil and peaceful environment in the middle of the harsh outback landscape.

Such a quiet and tranquil place for a late afternoon shoot. I used a 2 Stop Polariser and held the exposure for 2 minutes.

The reflection of the trees on the water’s edge gives out so much character to this image.
