Under wave bubbles are small pockets of air that form beneath the surface of the water as waves crash against them. These bubbles are created when the kinetic energy of the wave is transferred to the water, causing it to become turbulent and form tiny vortices. These vortices trap air pockets and create bubbles that rise to the surface.
I captured this image just after a large wave came crashing over the surface at Bronte Beach. The texture, light, and colour reflected through the surface at the right time.
