Colonial settler cottages are an important part of Australia's architectural history, as they represent the homes of early European settlers who arrived in Australia during the 18th and 19th centuries. These cottages were often small and simple in design, reflecting the limited resources and harsh conditions faced by early settlers. Burra is a historic town located in the Mid-North region of South Australia, located just outside the town center is this old 1920s sandstone cottage. The cottage is famous for its rich history over the years and the Australian Pioneers that built and lived here. I captured and composed this shot in the middle of a dry summer's day with a colour temperature in the 40s. The rolling hills of Burra in the background and the old cottage brought this image to life. Burra is a historic town located in the mid-north region of South Australia. It was founded in 1845 after copper was discovered in the area and quickly grew into a thriving mining town. The cottage is famous for its rich history over the years and the Australian Pioneers that built and lived here. I wanted to capture this remarkable old cottage at dusk to show a different view most people don't see. Just after sunset everything changes, the texture of the rich dry wheat grass, shadowed rolling hills, and the sky lit with purple pastel hues that make way for the faint full moon making its way through the horizon.
