Photography is a form of Art and I’m constantly pushing the boundaries, on what I can do with my Camera in Mother Nature. I use an in-camera stacking technique and filters to capture the natural landscape, like a brushed oil painting.  The beauty of a landscape painted like an oil painting is that it captures a moment in time and makes it timeless. After days of scouting for new angles of the Olgas, I mapped out this composition with the Desert Oaks. Kata Tjuṯa, also known as the Olgas, is a group of large, ancient rock formations located in the Red Centre of Australia, in the Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park. The name Kata Tjuṯa means "many heads" in the local Pitjantjatjara language, and the site is of great cultural and spiritual significance to the Anangu people, the traditional custodians of the land. Kata Tjuṯa is made up of 36 steep-sided domes that rise up to 546 meters above the surrounding desert landscape. The rock formations are composed of conglomerate, a sedimentary rock made up of pebbles and boulders cemented together by sand and mud. I waited several days before I got the colour I wanted on Twilight, I captured this unique panorama deep in the Kata Tjuta scrub country. Photographed in 6 x 17 Super Roll Film on Fuji Velvia 100. With the cold winter's desert temperature dropping to only 6 degrees, I held the exposure on twilight for 1 minute and then double exposed a second time for greater colour depth. Mundi Mundi Plains is a vast, flat plain located in the far west of New South Wales, Australia, approximately 20 kilometers from the city of Broken Hill. It is a significant landmark in the region and is known for its stunning panoramic views of the surrounding landscape. The Mundi Mundi Plains is situated on a high plateau, which rises up to over 500 meters above sea level. From this vantage point, visitors can enjoy breathtaking views of the rugged desert landscape, with its rocky outcrops, dry creek beds, and sparse vegetation. The Mundi Mundi Plains are also famous for their role in the filming of the iconic Australian movie "Mad Max 2: The Road Warrior". The vast, flat expanse of the plains made it the perfect location for the movie's climactic chase scenes, which were filmed here in the early 1980s Film Prop for an old Coca-Cola ad campaign, this old hotel still stands after years of bulls dust, and wind storms. An outback billabong is a waterhole or pond that is typically found in the arid regions of Australia. These waterholes are often fed by seasonal rains and are an important source of water for both wildlife and people living in the remote areas of the outback. Billabongs are usually surrounded by a diverse range of vegetation, including tall grasses, eucalyptus trees, and other native plants. They are home to a wide variety of aquatic plants and animals, including fish, turtles, frogs, and birds. The water in Billabongs is often clear and still, creating a tranquil and peaceful environment in the middle of the harsh outback landscape. Captured this Classic Australian Outback Billabong early one morning, with the surrounding Mulga Gums reflecting off the water's edge. Standing on the banks of Lake Victoria in the middle of Summer. With the temperature already over thirty degrees, I managed to capture this angle of the silhouetted trees on the edge of the lake. The purple and yellow hues on dawn made for a great composition, I held the exposure for over five minutes on film to produce this stunning Landscape. Burra is a historic town located in the Mid-North region of South Australia, located just outside the town center is this old 1920s sandstone cottage. The cottage is famous for its rich history over the years and the Australian Pioneers that built and lived here. I captured and composed this shot in the middle of a dry summer's day with a colour temperature in the 40s. The rolling hills of Burra in the background and the old cottage brought this image to life.
