Hiking through the New South Wales Alpin Region of Thredbo early one cold winter's morning, I found the well-running stream on the Cracken Back River. I captured and composed this image using a 3-stop Polariser Filter and held the exposure for 2 minutes. The large river boulders and snow gums gave a colorful composition, with great depth and detail. The icy cold mountain cascade flows downstream from the Thredbo Ski Fields, into Lake Cracken Back. Hiking through the New South Wales Alpine region of Jindabyne, late afternoon I came across this composition I had to capture. Snow gums are a type of eucalyptus tree that grows in the alpine regions of Australia, including the NSW alpine region. The bark of snow gums is known to shed in long strips, revealing a smooth, pale trunk underneath. With the light diminishing along the plains and snow falling, made for a great classic high-country panorama.

The rusting corrugated steel wall panels of this structure tell thousands of stories of stockmen seeking refuge from the harsh conditions seen here in the winter months. Although this shot was taken in Spring, the dew underfoot and clouds of breath in the air in front of me reminded me how grateful I was for the warmth and comfort of a heated room I had to return to. Situated in the Bogong High Plains. I captured this Classic Australian Panorama late afternoon just before the snow season had arrived. The colour temperature made for a perfect cold winter's shot. The moisture in the air was around 3 degrees, snow gums came to life with so much vibrant colours. With the temperature being so low, I could barely roll the film onto the Linhof Technorama Fuji Velvia 100

Craig's Hut is a truly beautiful and serene location nestled in the heart of the Australian Alps. Perched high atop Mount Stirling, this rustic and charming mountain hut offers breathtaking views of the surrounding wilderness, making it a popular destination for nature lovers, hikers, and outdoor enthusiasts of all kinds. Built-in 1981 as a set for the iconic Australian film, "The Man from Snowy River", Craig's Hut has since become a beloved landmark and cultural icon for many Australians. Its rustic wooden construction, picturesque location, and sweeping panoramic views make it an idyllic retreat from the hustle and bustle of modern life. Setting up the camera late in the afternoon, the weather changed dramatically that day. Every hour was four seasons in one day. I waited till the sun perched behind the cloud cover to capture this dramatic composition of the hut. The majestic light rebounded through the cloud cover and over the peaks on the horizon. The air temperature was a cool 6 degrees with lots of icy wind. The binding light only lasted a few minutes to capture this Classic Limited Edition. Captured on 6 x 17 Super Roll Film.
