Snow Gums Wallace Hut | Late Afternoon Wall Art

Location: Wallace Hut, Falls Creek, Victoria Finish: Acrylic Face Mount / Diamond Polished Bevelled Edges - Ready To Hang

    20 Artist Proof / 200 Limited Edition
Nestled in Falls Creek within the Alpine National Park in the Victorian Alps, Wallace Hut is the oldest surviving cattleman's hut, originally built in 1889. The rusting corrugated steel wall panels of this structure tell thousands of stories of stockmen seeking refuge from the harsh conditions seen here in the winter months. Although this shot was taken in Spring, the dew underfoot and clouds of breath in the air in front of me reminded me how grateful I was for the warmth and comfort of a heated room I had to return to. What caught my eye most was the hauntingly beautiful trunks of the surrounding snow gums, the almost pop-art pattern and colour formation of the bark on the twisting limbs creating a palette not ordinarily seen in nature. 6 x 17 Super Roll Film

It stands as a testament to the power of nature, with its towering cliffs and majestic archway carved out by centuries of wind and waves. As you approach the Island Arch, you can't help but feel a sense of awe and wonder. The sheer scale of the cliffs is staggering, and the deep blue of the ocean below seems almost unreal. As you walk closer, you can feel the cool breeze off the water and the salty mist in the air. And then you see it - the arch itself. The Twelve Apostles is a collection of limestone stacks located off the shore of the Port Campbell National Park in Victoria, Australia. These iconic rock formations have become one of Australia's most popular tourist attractions and are a significant part of the Great Ocean Road scenic drive. The formation of the Twelve Apostles began over 20 million years ago when the sea receded and the limestone cliffs were formed. Over time, the wind and waves slowly eroded the cliffs, creating the unique formations that we see today. I've always had a fascination with photographing the Twelve Apostles, this angle captured on Gibson Beach is one of my favorites. As you can get pretty close to them and see just how big they really are. This Image was captured on a very colourfull cloudy afternoon. The salty sea breeze lingering throughout the air, made for the perfect film shot. 6 x17 Super Roll Film

Southern Light | Late Afternoon Wall Art

    Location: Twelve Apostles, Victoria

Finish: Acrylic Face Mount / Diamond Polished Bevelled Edges - Read To Hang

    20 Artist Proof / 200 Limited Edition
As the southern light spills over the cliff and cascades down towards the sea, it creates a breathtaking display of color and beauty that is truly awe-inspiring. The cliffs seem to come alive, glowing with a warm and inviting radiance that seems to draw you in and make you feel at home. The light plays across the 12 Apostles and the water, creating a shimmering and dazzling display of natural wonder that is impossible to ignore. The waves crash against the rocks with a fierce and unrelenting power, but the light seems to soften their edges and lend them an almost ethereal quality. As the sun begins to rise, the southern light takes on a new day with more enchanting hues, the sky turning a soft and delicate pink that seems to blend seamlessly with the cliffs and the sea. It's a moment of pure magic when the world seems to hold its breath in anticipation of the beauty that is yet to come. 6 x 17 Super Roll Film

Built-in 1889 by the Wallace Brothers, this hut is one of the oldest mountain huts in the Alpine National Park. Nestled amongst snow gums, the hut sits flat on the Grassy Plains. Situated in the Bogong High Plains. I captured this Classic Australian Panorama Late Afternoon wall art just before the snow season had arrived. The colour temperature made for a perfect cold winter's shot. The moisture in the air was around 3 degrees, snow gums came to life with so much vibrant colours. With the temperature being so low, I could barely roll the film onto the Linhof Technorama Fuji Velvia 100

Ancient Ocean | Late Afternoon Wall Art

The Twelve Apostles is a collection of limestone stacks that rise out of the Southern Ocean along the Great Ocean Road in Victoria, Australia. They are one of Australia's most famous landmarks and a popular tourist attraction, attracting millions of visitors each year. Despite their name, there were only ever nine stacks, and one of these has since collapsed due to erosion. The Twelve Apostles were formed over millions of years by the constant erosion of the soft limestone cliffs by the ocean waves. The stacks are made up of layers of sediment that have built up over time, creating a unique and stunning natural formation. The Twelve Apostles are located in the Port Campbell National Park and are accessible via a boardwalk that winds its way along the cliffs above. Visitors can take in the stunning views of the stacks and the surrounding coastline from various viewing platforms along the way. The best time to visit the Twelve Apostles is at sunset or sunrise when the light is soft and warm, creating a magical atmosphere. The site is also home to a variety of native wildlife, including kangaroos, wallabies, and birdlife. Captured and composed this dramatic image, early one morning just after a huge storm cell hit the coastline just before sunrise leaving so much detail in the sky as it passed. The rays of light scrambled over the Indian Ocean, the cloud cover was changing dramatically every minute, and I knew it was time to shoot. Linhof Technorama 6 x 17 Super Roll Film
