The old Jetty stretched out over the Bay's calm waters, its wooden piers worn and weathered by years of use. The sun began setting in the distance, casting a warm glow over the landscape. As I made my way capture the jetty, I couldn't help but feel a sense of peace and tranquility wash over me. The water was still and calm, reflecting the colors of the sunset on its glassy surface. I sat at the front of the water's edge and watched as the sun sank lower in the sky, casting a warm, purple light over the water. The ocean under the jetty was a world unto itself, a mysterious and captivating place that seemed to hold a thousand secrets. The wooden planks above creaked and groaned with the movement of the water below, a constant reminder of the power and strength of the ocean. I peered up through the gaps in the planks, watching as the waves crashed against the wooden posts, sending plumes of salty spray up into the air. The water was a deep, dark blue with a shade of purple, shafts of sunlight filtering up through the waves to dance on the sandy bottom. As I gazed into the depths of the ocean, I felt a sense of awe and wonder wash over me. There was a sense of endless possibility here, a feeling that anything could be hiding in the shadows, waiting to be discovered. I held the exposure for 5 minutes at sunrise. 6 x 17 Super Roll Film

Point Lonsdale is a Coastal Town on the Bellarine Peninsula near Queenscliff, Victoria. I captured the famous Point Lonsdale Jetty just after a night of heavy rain and stormy conditions. I composed the jetty to show the detail and length using the handrails to draw you into the composition, captured in the middle of Winter at 5:30 am Fuji Velvia 100
