Wallace Hut is a historic hut located in the Alpine National Park, Victoria, Australia. It was built in 1889 by a local farmer's The Wallace Brothers and is one of the oldest surviving huts in the area. The hut was used by cattlemen and other high country travelers as a shelter during their travels, and it remained in use until the mid-20th century. Captured this image just after sunrise in Spring, with the early morning rays of light penetrating the twisted snow gums on the Bogong High Plains. 6 x 17 Super Roll Film

Built back in the Mid-1800s this old Sandstone Cemented Cottage was home to the gold miners who worked in the local mines in search of gold. The cottage was constructed using local materials, including timber and stone, and features a corrugated iron roof. The current owner of the property allowed me to photograph the property late afternoon. I captured this Unquie angle of the stone cottage in 6 x 17 Panorama Format.

Nestled in Falls Creek within the Alpine National Park in the Victorian Alps, Wallace Hut is the oldest surviving cattleman's hut, originally built in 1889. The rusting corrugated steel wall panels of this structure tell thousands of stories of stockmen seeking refuge from the harsh conditions seen here in the winter months. Although this shot was taken in Spring, the dew underfoot and clouds of breath in the air in front of me reminded me how grateful I was for the warmth and comfort of a heated room I had to return to. What caught my eye most was the hauntingly beautiful trunks of the surrounding snow gums, the almost pop-art pattern and colour formation of the bark on the twisting limbs creating a palette not ordinarily seen in nature. 6 x 17 Super Roll Film

Situated in the Bogong High Plains. I captured this Classic Australian Panorama late afternoon just before the snow season had arrived. The colour temperature made for a perfect cold winter's shot. The moisture in the air was around 3 degrees, snow gums came to life with so much vibrant colours.
